 WHAT I DO!
Hi - I'm Paul and Mod-Ka Pumas Combat Sports is my offer of personal training in ring based combat sports - Boxing and Kickboxing.  I work from my family gym at my home in the south of Lincoln where I have a boxing ring and a variety of pads, bags, balls and other useful tools to work with.

Whether you want to train to get and keep fit,  learn and develop new skills  or build on existing experience and training, you're welcome to come and train with me.

I'll work with you whether that's simply to to train for fitness or to learn and build your skill set  and understanding of sport fighting.  There's far more to it than simply learning to throw a few punches and kicks etc.  

I like to keep training informal and fun.  If you enjoy what you're doing you'll do it better!  Music can be a great motivator so if you're of like mind you can bring your own, request what you like or listen to mine.



HEALTH & MENTAL WELLBEING

Training regularly through combat sport will certainly help improve your physical health. You'll be building aerobic and anaerobic capacity, working all your essential core muscle groups while helping your body to remain agile and flexible and burning calories.  

This kind of training can be an excellent support for physical fitness, weight loss and maintenance but can also have a positive effect on your mental wellbeing. Training isn't a miracle cure for depression but we all have times when life is more trying. It's been my experience that training gives you a mental boost.  If you enjoy it then it's a positive thing to focus on and turn to when you're having that terrible day, week or month.  Training has made a positive difference to several people I've worked with in their lives outside of the gym.  Coming to the gym tired and fed up but leaving it happy and buzzing is a common theme!



YOU DON'T NEED TO BE FIT OR HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE TO START!
Training is tailored to you and whatever level of skill, experience and fitness you currently have.  Whether that's zero/couch potato or elite athlete/Olympian god! It's what you want from your training that matters.  You can simply work for skills and the science of fighting and barely break a sweat or push yourself hard throughout your session leaving with a sheen, heart pounding and endorphins racing (a great way to start, perk up or end your day!)  and, of course, everything in-between.  You're in control - you tell me what your goals are and we will work out together how you train.
